Overview

As a Welder-Fabricator at T E C Industrial in Greenville, South Carolina, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding various components to assemble structural forms according to blueprints and welding techniques. The role requires knowledge of welding and metallurgy, as well as the ability to work safely in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components.
• Assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, and pressure vessels.
• Select equipment and perform layout, assembly, and welding.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding.
• Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Set and adjust welding machines according to materials used.
• Identify and resolve hazards associated with assignments.
• Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Check work to ensure it meets code and specifications.
• Perform basic rigging practices and follow OSHA safety standards.
• Safely use hand and power tools and follow safety policies.
• Monitor and maintain building systems as assigned.
• Execute various minor construction projects as required.
• Maintain equipment and clean around workstations.
• Interface with supervisor or manager to provide progress updates.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Work in tight spaces and elevated areas requiring fall protection.

Requirements

• Certified Welder (MIG, TIG, Stick) with some welding performed while wearing SCBA respirator.
• Must pass Client welding certification for carbon, stainless, hastalloy, and titanium.
• Experience in an industrial chemical environment strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform basic rigging practices and provide certification.
• Must arrive at work on time and follow all safety rules and standards.
• Understand and follow instructions from the direct supervisor.
