Overview
The Traveling Electrical TIG Welder position at Electrical Builders, Ind. (EBI) involves working on critical power systems across the U.S., combining TIG welding with hands-on technical work. Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of electrical bus duct systems.
- Conduct TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel pipes.
- Inspect, clean, and refurbish bus duct systems.
- Install bus duct systems, including rigging, alignment, and torquing.
- Follow procedures, blueprints, and safety standards with precision.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and field logs.
- Keep a clean and organized job site to support crew productivity.
- Actively seek guidance and take direction from foremen and senior crew.
- Prepare for daily safety briefings and show up on time.
- Take computer-based tests for extended periods.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience with TIG Aluminum or Stainless Steel.
- Desire to learn, grow, and earn certifications.
- Comfortable with overnight travel.
- Certification of Welding from an accredited school is preferred.
- Comfortable with heights.
- Valid Driver's License.
- OSHA 10 certification is required.
- Ability to become certified in accordance with the company’s welding procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of raw materials, welding processes, and quality control.
- Ability to read and write processes.
- Physical ability to independently lift, carry, or maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a cooperative and team-oriented environment.
- Ability to use computers and shop reference manuals.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading.

Additional Information
- Travel is required 60% of the calendar year.
