Position Summary
The WSI pipefitter lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation, and following blueprints. Pipefitters will perform all maintenance piping/welding tasks on mobile and stationary support and auxiliary equipment. Pipefitters are knowledgeable of cutting and welding methods, test for structural soundness of piping components and ensures equipment operate safely and efficiently.
Educational Requirements
High School Completion or GED is a requirement. Union Journeyman training, equivalent training or experience Minimum of 2 years’ experience with automated and traditional manual welding equipment.
Skills And Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience with automated welding equipment. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to perform Stick, Metal Inert Gas (“MIG”) and Tungsten Inert Gas (“TIG”) welding, /Welder (Vertical and Overhead Welding)
Essential Duties
Set up and operate WSI proprietary automated welding equipment in a confined space including WSI proprietary mechanized welding equipment Analyze field welding applications and apply appropriate WSI welding to use in field applications Determine WSI welding equipment, fit-up tools, materials and weld procedures needed for specific WSI projects and tasks. Weld pipe, attachments and structural components for WSI field applications from all positions Design, layout, fabricate and analyze metal failures and repairs needed Fabricate, fit and weld material from blueprints and drawings Operate miscellaneous hand and power tools required for pipefitting and welding tasks Operate measuring tools and shop support equipment Able to follow instructions and direction with minimal supervision Understand and practice all safety procedures for work environment Demonstrate effective communication skills Willing and able to travel for field assignments as required. Training welders in the use of WSI proprietary welding equipment Other duties as assigned by your manager

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift 75+ pounds, be able to work while standing, squatting, sitting and kneeling. Must be able to weld from various positions.
