Overview
The TIG Welder position at Howmet Aerospace Inc. involves working as a team member to perform production welding and weld repairs on various components according to specified procedures and customer requirements. Responsibilities
- Production weld and/or weld repair castings, dies, molds, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment.
- Read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI).
- Operate GTAW welding equipment and hand tools.
- Apply weld identification and maintain quality levels.
- Complete welders' certification tests in nickel, cobalt, and iron-based alloys.
- Perform weld repairs and maintenance on various alloys.
- Blend welds for repair and production weld castings.
- Prepare surface areas for welding and blending.
- Complete and maintain necessary paperwork.
- Operate hoist systems and monitor argon purity.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in welding.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Formalized training in Manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) required.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Mechanical ability and proficiency in use of gauges and measuring skills required.
- Must pass visual acuity examination for certified welder position.
