Overview

The TIG Welder position at Howmet Aerospace Inc. involves working as a team member to perform production welding and weld repairs on various components according to specified procedures and customer requirements. Howmet Aerospace is a leading provider of engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries, focusing on advanced components and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Production weld and/or weld repair castings, dies, molds, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI).
  • Operate GTAW welding equipment and hand tools.
  • Apply weld identification and maintain quality levels.
  • Complete welders' certification tests in nickel, cobalt, and iron-based alloys.
  • Perform weld repairs and maintenance on various alloys.
  • Blend welds for repair and production weld castings.
  • Prepare surface areas for welding and blending.
  • Complete and maintain necessary paperwork.
  • Operate hoist systems and monitor argon purity.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in welding.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Formalized training in Manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) required.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • Mechanical ability and proficiency in use of gauges and measuring skills required.
  • Must pass visual acuity examination for certified welder position.
