Leviton is a company with over 115 years of history that focuses on providing solutions for lighting, power, and connectivity in everyday spaces. The TIG Welder will perform high-precision welding on light-gauge aluminum components, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, blueprints, and layout plans to determine material and component requirements.
  • Set up materials and equipment for welding and fabrication according to specifications.
  • Operate TIG welding equipment and related tools, including arc welders, grinders, and buffing machines.
  • Perform TIG welding on aluminum parts following provided instructions and technical drawings.
  • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and penetration.
  • Test welded products to ensure functionality and adherence to standards.
  • Follow all shop safety procedures, welding best practices, and quality guidelines.
  • Identify faulty equipment or defective materials and assist in resolving issues.
  • Maintain welding equipment in proper working condition.
  • Keep workstations clean and safe, adhering strictly to safety protocols related to heat, sparks, and welding processes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in TIG welding techniques and knowledge of various welding positions.
  • Ability to work with different metals and alloys, including thin or complex materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding codes, and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in executing welds.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to safely handle welding tools and materials.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience with aluminum materials.
  • Professional welding certification preferred.

Additional Information

  • The position works out of the IDP facility in Pembroke Park, Florida.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to handle heavy materials and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in an environment where noise levels may be higher due to machinery/equipment usage.
