Overview

The Manufacturing Technician role involves performing various assembly tasks, including mechanical and electrical work, with potential travel to domestic and international sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of non-routine and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies.
  • Use common hand and power tools, jigs, and saws for assembly tasks.
  • Determine methods and sequences of assembly operations with incomplete information.
  • Work from Engineering sketches, diagrams, schematics, and drawings.
  • Fabricate, assemble, modify, and rework subassemblies and assemblies.
  • Participate in device teardown and site installation, requiring travel to field sites.
  • Work possible shift hours, including swing and overtime as needed.
  • Close applicable Manufacturing Order routing steps in Deltek Costpoint.
  • Assist in collecting data for Engineering Change Requests on assembly issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required, with 2-5+ years of welding or structural fabrication experience.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or simulator manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in working from Engineering sketches, diagrams, schematics, and drawings.
  • Proficient with common hand and power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Proficiency with MIG and TIG welding processes; ability to pass a weld test.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs and work in various positions for large assemblies.
  • Exhibit a teamwork attitude.
  • Current passport desired for overseas travel.
  • Must be able to work long periods standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.

Additional Information

  • Full-time position, may also be part-time depending on workload.
  • Travel could be up to 75-80% of the time.
  • Work performed in climate-controlled areas but may require outdoor work.
