Overview

Bilfinger is a leading international industrial services provider with over 4,500 skilled employees in North America, delivering services across multiple industries. The Welder Foreman position involves permanently joining metal parts through various welding techniques and ensuring safety and quality in the welding process.

Responsibilities

  • Understand construction risks and bring them to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
  • Weld components in various positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure them for welding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using different welding methods.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Operate cutting equipment and various power and hand tools.
  • Determine required equipment and welding method based on knowledge of metallurgy.
  • Remove slag and rough spots using grinders or scrapers.
  • Weld pipe and pipe assembly components of various sizes and alloys.
  • Inspect and maintain gas equipment.
  • Disconnect, remove, replace, and connect oxygen and acetylene bottles.
  • Work with different types and sizes of materials.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces for flaws.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures.
  • Load, transport, and unload tools and equipment.
  • Assist in lifting and securing materials during assembly.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in welding carbon and stainless steel.
  • Must pass weld test as determined per site requirements.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and isometric drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Must wear PPE in designated areas.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work individually and in a team.
  • Ability to perform essential physical requirements in harsh conditions.
