Overview
The Pipe Welder position in Kingsport, TN requires passing client welding certification and at least two years of experience, preferably in an industrial chemical environment. The role involves various welding techniques and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Pass client welding certification for carbon, stainless, TIG, and Stick.
- Set and adjust welding machine according to materials used.
- Identify and resolve hazards associated with assignments.
- Read blueprints, PID’s, or instructions from supervisors.
- Check work to ensure it meets code and specifications.
- Perform basic rigging practices and follow OSHA standards.
- Safely use hand and power tools and follow safety policies.
- Lay out, fit, and weld components according to blueprints.
- Select equipment and perform layout, assembly, and welding.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding.
- Assemble parts by bolting and riveting as needed.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Requirements
- Must pass client welding certification.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in pipe welding.
- Experience in an industrial chemical environment preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions.
- Must be able to work outdoors and in tight spaces.
- Valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license required.
