Overview

The Single Hand Pipe Welder is responsible for operating welding machines to join various types of pipe and fittings in the oil and gas industry. Delta Constructors provides comprehensive construction, maintenance, and project management services across North America, specializing in brownfield and greenfield projects.

Responsibilities

  • Reads blueprints, drawings and welding diagrams.
  • Interprets isometric drawings and determines which specifications to apply.
  • Operates hand and power tools common to welding such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc.
  • Holds, clamps, heat-bends, tack-welds or bolts component parts.
  • Ignites and installs torches and beveling machines within specifications.
  • Welds using stainless steel, carbon steel and duplex materials.
  • Maintains machines and inspects equipment to identify possible problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or Equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a 2” SCH 160 carbon tig pipe test.
  • Ability to pass a 1” full-pen structural 3g/4g plate test.
  • Ability to pass a 6” structural flux-core with backing ring test.
  • Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record required depending on location.

Additional Information

  • Work Location: Anchorage, Alaska.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear plugs on occasion.
  • Work is usually done outside at a job site/field site that may have inclement weather conditions.
  • The incumbent is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
  • The employee will be required to work and stay on site during the work rotation and must comply with all Company and Client policies.
