Overview
We are looking for a Mobile Mechanic to join our Houston, TX location. As a Maintenance Mechanic with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will work as part of a team to repair heavy duty trucks and equipment in and around the shop area.
Responsibilities
- Read job orders and observe trucks in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
- Diagnose and repair/replace various parts/components that have failed or are causing malfunctions on the equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems relating to the equipment and its components.
- Diagnose and repair problems related to hydraulic components, steering systems, and brake systems.
- Service equipment, including greasing trucks and changing oils/fluids.
- Weld components necessary for repair or fabrication of parts.
- Operate cutting torch and gas welding equipment.
- Operate shop tools such as power drills, power saws, and related power tools.
- Operate air tools, chipping guns, scalers, impact guns, and related air tools.
- Operate service truck or tow truck with required license.
Requirements
- Demonstrates proficiency in difficult and high-pressure situations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic hand tool knowledge.
- Ability to follow and add to safety culture to create a safe work environment.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Must be able to pass a background check, fitness for duty evaluation, and pre-employment drug testing.
- Must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment, exposed to weather elements and noise.
- High school education or GED equivalent.
