Overview
BAE Systems is seeking an Electronic Assembler II for their Wayne, NJ facility. This position involves assembling electronic components and requires in-person collaboration in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assembles electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules using samples, visual aids, prints, and process sheets.
- Verifies results to ensure conformance with requirements and performs rework as needed.
- Performs mechanical assembly operations using standard measuring tools and techniques.
- Conducts electronic assembly operations including wire termination and installation of various electronic components.
- Fabrics wires on a Jig Board according to specifications.
- Prepares wires by routing, dressing, and terminating conductors as specified.
- Pre-stages circuit card kits and forms components using machine and hand devices.
- Performs masking operations prior to wave soldering or coating of circuit card assemblies.
- Cleans boards per Manufacturing Control Specifications.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- High School/GED required.
- At least 2 years of electronic assembly experience, preferably with soldering cables and connector assemblies.
- Training or certification in IPC-J-STD-001 required.
- Ability to interpret instructions on process sheets, prints, or route cards.
- Proficient in using hand tools such as cutters, pliers, and screwdrivers.
- Ability to identify electronic components and orient them correctly on a circuit board.
- Skilled in using measurement tools like scales, micrometers, and calipers.
Additional Information
- Position is full-time and performed on-site at a BAE Systems facility.
- First shift working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
