Our client in King of Prussia is seeking a Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery used in the production of rebar steel. This role is critical to ensuring equipment uptime, safety, and production efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct regular inspection of equipment to identify repairs needed, and safety issues Continuously improve on the process/equipment focusing on quality and efficiency Assist in training Line Operators on lock-out/tag-out and other safety programs Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment Maintain accurate and thorough maintenance/repair records Maintain adequate supply of spare parts Recommends, evaluates, and installs new equipment and/or line improvements Reviews and works towards reducing production downtime caused by equipment issues Assist with other facilities and mechanical repairs as needed Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repairs using outside vendors to ensure timely completion within approved budget Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments Ensure equipment is designed for timely and efficient changeovers Respond to calls for building and equipment issues as needed Maintain good housekeeping practices Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have excellent attendance and work record Experience working in manufacturing environment Ability to troubleshoot and follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications Ability to work independently and also as a cross functional team member Attention to detail Proficiency with hand tools, electric meters and material handling equipment Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods Ability to work 10 hour shifts Ability to work in a cold/hot environment Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more Possess problem solving skills to resolve and mitigate issues Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with multiple management levels Ability to follow detailed instructions
