Overview
The Aerospace Welder position requires expertise in various NDT methods to ensure the integrity of welds in aerospace applications. Candidates must have strong welding skills and relevant certifications, with a focus on safety and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform NDT methods to detect internal and external weld flaws.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized inspection and testing equipment.
- Review blueprints, welding symbols, and Welding Procedure Specifications for code compliance.
- Document findings, generate formal inspection reports, and identify non-conforming work.
- Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and welders across various sites.
Requirements
- Background in structural welding processes like GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, or FCAW.
- ASNT Level II or III certifications in specific NDT testing disciplines.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential is highly valued.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Experience working with 0.010-0.030 tolerances is a must.
- Basic understanding of welding symbols per AWS 2.4.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English.
