Overview

Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking a First-Class Pipefitter to join their team, responsible for fitting various types of pipes and systems on military vessels. With over 11,000 employees, Ingalls is a major contributor to the economic growth of Mississippi and Alabama, and has a long history of supporting the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.

Responsibilities

• Fit pipes made of steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless steel.
• Utilize various tools and equipment according to drawings, arrangements, and blueprints.
• Work in production areas that may involve different heights, confined spaces, and various weather conditions.
• Be available to work day or night depending on the number of ships under construction.
• Adhere to safety procedures that meet or exceed industry standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of Pipefitting experience.
• Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills.
• Knowledge of layout, fit-up, fabrication, and installation of pipe, flanges, and valves.
• Ability to read and interpret trade drawings and blueprints using metric and standard measurements.

• Full-Time position with multiple shifts available.
