Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking a First-Class Pipefitter to join their team, responsible for fitting various types of pipes and systems on military vessels. Responsibilities
- Fit pipes made of steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless steel.
- Utilize various tools and equipment according to drawings, arrangements, and blueprints.
- Work in production areas that may involve different heights, confined spaces, and various weather conditions.
- Be available to work day or night depending on the number of ships under construction.
- Adhere to safety procedures that meet or exceed industry standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of Pipefitting experience.
- Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills.
- Knowledge of layout, fit-up, fabrication, and installation of pipe, flanges, and valves.
- Ability to read and interpret trade drawings and blueprints using metric and standard measurements.
