Overview
The Welder position involves fusing metal materials together using various welding processes and equipment. Welders work with different materials to assemble metal components and ensure compliance with safety protocols while monitoring equipment operation.
Responsibilities
- Fuse metal materials using high heat equipment and welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding.
- Fit and assemble metal components to form structures.
- Operate hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment like oxyacetylene torch and electric arc machine.
- Handle metal materials such as steel, iron, aluminum, and composite materials.
- Read blueprints and drawings to identify welding measurements and positions.
- Conduct assessments to determine appropriate welding methods and equipment.
- Set up and install welding components/equipment according to specifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols by wearing protective gear.
- Monitor equipment operation to ensure optimal temperature conditions.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a risk-free work environment.
