Overview
The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for supervising all operations and personnel in the Manufacturing Shop, leading team members to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all operations and personnel working in the department.
- Organize set up of each job to meet job schedules.
- Maintain housekeeping of the area responsible.
- Responsible for hiring, training, and support of new employees.
- Document employee disciplinary action when necessary.
- Document and handle employee terminations when necessary.
- Enforce all personnel policies.
- Monitor quality.
- Solve job related problems.
- Investigate and fill out accident reports.
- Provide safety equipment.
- Maintain a safe environment.
- Monitor employee times and turn into payroll.
- Responsible for the safety of employees.
Requirements
- Must meet/exceed all Welder III requirements.
- Familiar with all processes of welding (S.M.A.W., F.C.A.W., G.M.A.W., G.T.A.W., S.A.W.).
- Advanced knowledge of blueprints.
- Ability to effectively train new employees of Petersen’s standards.
- Ability to assign jobs to team members and give clear instructions.
- Expected to understand continuous improvement and lead the team with Safety, On time delivery, Quality and Cost.
- Must have the ability to encourage and effectively motivate team members.
- Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
- Able to work overtime as required.
- Possess problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain trust, unity, and a good working relationship with management, team members and customers.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least 5 years of Supervisory experience.
Additional Information
- Must be able to work odd hours/schedule.
- Must be able to lift 49 pounds.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate various office equipment and machinery.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision to operate machinery and communicate appropriately.
- Will require steel toe shoes/boots.
- Requires working under stressful conditions.
- May require working overtime.
