Job Description

Overview

The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for supervising all operations and personnel in the Manufacturing Shop, leading team members to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all operations and personnel working in the department.
  • Organize set up of each job to meet job schedules.
  • Maintain housekeeping of the area responsible.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and support of new employees.
  • Document employee disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Document and handle employee terminations when necessary.
  • Enforce all personnel policies.
  • Monitor quality.
  • Solve job related problems.
  • Investigate and fill out accident reports.
  • Provide safety equipment.
  • Maintain a safe environment.
  • Monitor employee times and turn into payroll.
  • Responsible for the safety of employees.

Requirements

  • Must meet/exceed all Welder III requirements.
  • Familiar with all processes of welding (S.M.A.W., F.C.A.W., G.M.A.W., G.T.A.W., S.A.W.).
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprints.
  • Ability to effectively train new employees of Petersen’s standards.
  • Ability to assign jobs to team members and give clear instructions.
  • Expected to understand continuous improvement and lead the team with Safety, On time delivery, Quality and Cost.
  • Must have the ability to encourage and effectively motivate team members.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
  • Possess problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain trust, unity, and a good working relationship with management, team members and customers.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • At least 5 years of Supervisory experience.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work odd hours/schedule.
  • Must be able to lift 49 pounds.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate various office equipment and machinery.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision to operate machinery and communicate appropriately.
  • Will require steel toe shoes/boots.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions.
  • May require working overtime.
