Overview

Cherokee Millwright, Inc. is a multi-craft company that provides a full suite of millwrighting services, including the installation, dismantling, and movement of machinery and equipment. The Multi-Craft Millwright Foreman position involves hands-on work and oversight of various trades to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on work priority.
  • Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
  • Monitor tool and part inventories and job site conditions.
  • Examine systems and analyze information for needed installations or repairs.
  • Report accidents and cooperate with investigations.
  • Compile operational and personnel data.
  • Report employee work-related issues and provide mentoring.
  • Conduct on-the-job training or arrange for worker training.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantle machines.
  • Move machinery and equipment using various tools.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as shafting and conveyors.
  • Construct foundations for machines and set specified clearances.
  • Align machines and equipment using various tools.
  • Assemble machines and fasten them to structures.
  • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • Use various hand tools, power tools, torches, and welders.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Utilize additional skills in other crafts as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
