Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Combo Welder position involves joining metal parts through various welding techniques as specified by layouts, blueprints, or instructions.

Responsibilities

• Use welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
• Unite pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas.
• Adjust flow of gas and air to reach expected flame temperature.
• Preheat work pieces using a torch.
• Fill holes or correct mistakes in metal work pieces.
• Check the weakness of work pieces and measure them for specifications.
• Climb ladders or work on scaffolds to take apart textures.
• Signal crane operators to lift large work pieces.
• Use thermal-cutting equipment to cut scrap metal.
• Use hoist, crane, and hand tools to place and protect work pieces.
• Choose weld locations based on metal type and thickness.
• Instruct and bring flame or electrodes to manipulate metal.
• Join pieces together and add metal to develop parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No minimum education requirements.
• Weld Test certification required.
• Driver's License required.
• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
