Overview
The Welder 1 position involves performing a variety of welding duties to support machine and repair functions. The role requires coordination within and across departments and adherence to safety and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties to support the machine/repair function.
- Use MIG, stick electrode, and brazing welding processes.
- Layout, position, align, and fit components together.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Read blueprints or follow verbal instructions for repairs and fabrication.
- Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the department and with other departments.
- Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested.
- Respond to inquiries relating to the specific area or requests from customers and other personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass welding procedures test.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions.
- Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
- Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
- Proficient mechanical skills.
- Proficient PC skills, including Internet.
- Visual and auditory skills.
Additional Information
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less.
- Excessive noise environment.
- Operate heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment.
- Work at elevated heights or in confined spaces.
