Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Quality Inspector/CWI for the 2nd shift at Veritas Steel, responsible for ensuring quality control during production operations and maintaining compliance with specifications and codes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate between Veritas Steel Production and DOT Inspectors for quality checks.
- Perform visual inspection of materials as required.
- Conduct layout checks as needed.
- Perform rotational capacity tests on bolts prior to use.
- Work with outside inspectors to resolve quality issues.
- Monitor welder qualification tests.
- Record welding parameters to ensure compliance with approved WPS.
- Read and understand welding codes and specifications.
- Perform dimensional checks on lay downs and shop assemblies.
- Develop improvements in the quality control process.
Requirements
- Must have CWI Certification.
- NACE or BCI Certification is desired.
- Ability to be organized and precise in maintaining reports.
- Good people skills for dealing with difficult situations.
- Ambitious to help meet department and company goals.
Additional Information
- Shift hours are Monday through Friday.
- Hours M-Th are 3:45pm to 3:15am and Friday hours are 3:45pm to 8:45pm.
