Overview
The Welding Technician position involves welding fabrications and other tasks as directed, requiring strong skills in various welding techniques for steel and aluminum. The role demands precision, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Weld aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel components using bench and MIG techniques.
- Grind welds as necessary.
- Collaborate with other employees as part of a team and work independently.
- Follow directions from area supervision accurately.
- Attend and successfully complete the company-sponsored weld-training program.
- Read blueprints, work orders, and other technical documents required for welding.
- Set up and assemble various components and machines for welding.
- Maintain a productive and non-disruptive work ethic.
- Minimize scrap and rework while improving quality.
- Adhere to all company safety rules and policies.
- Keep company equipment and work areas clean and orderly.
- Safely use proper tools and equipment to fulfill job requirements.
- Continuously strive to improve in all aspects of the job.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Commit to welding training provided by the company.
- Willing to cross-train as required by supervisor or manager.
- Successfully complete a weld test prior to job offers.
- Follow work orders precisely with minimal errors.
- Read work orders and use measuring equipment accurately.
- Possess mechanical skills and some computer skills.
- 6 months of similar experience or Weld Program Certification from an accredited Trade School or Vocational Program preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
