Overview

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position that is part of the regular career civil service, providing all the benefits of Federal employees. ARTs must maintain active membership in the AF Reserve unit and typically receive one weekend of military training per month.

Responsibilities

• Performs administrative supervisory duties over journey level mechanics no more than 25 percent of the time.
• Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Operates complex hand and power tools and equipment to fabricate and repair items.
• Develops patterns, cuts, forms, joins, assembles, and installs items and systems with combined straight and curved edges.
• Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program and complies with safety practices and security regulations.
