Overview

Drop Works, an established custom fabrication and scenic building firm in the Bay Area for over 25 years, is seeking full-time fabricator/installers with experience in set building, trade show booths, and custom fabrication for retail build-outs and events. The ideal candidates are experienced, motivated, and team-oriented individuals with advanced carpentry and fabrication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry-based custom fabrication for activations and scenic architecture.
• Logistics, transport, and installation of custom fabricated elements and sets.
• Complete various fabrication projects for commercial customers and private events.
• Work collaboratively in small teams under tight deadlines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of finish carpentry/custom fabrication experience is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as crouching, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
• Significant knowledge in the safe and effective use of professional power tools.
• Ability to read and accurately fabricate and install builds from drawings and plans.
• Strong mathematical ability for accuracy in measuring, fabricating, and installing.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality are required.
• Professional communication and demeanor with clients and colleagues.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation is required for offsite work.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
• Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with diverse individuals.
• Willingness to expand and improve skills.
• Detail-oriented approach is necessary.
• Ability to drive a 24’ box truck is a plus.

Additional Information

• Self-transport is required as employees may start work at offsite locations.
• Early mornings, possible travel, evenings, weekends, and overtime may be required.
• Immediate full-time employment (40 hours per week plus overtime as needed).
