Overview

Drop Works is an established custom fabrication and scenic building firm in the Bay Area, seeking full-time fabricator/installers with experience in set building, trade show booths, and custom fabrication for retail build-outs and events. The company has been a leader in the industry for over 25 years and operates a large fabrication shop and commercial photo studio in Vallejo, CA.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry-based custom fabrication for activations and scenic architecture.
• Logistics, transport, and installation of custom fabricated elements and sets.
• Fabrication projects for commercial customers and private events.
• Work collaboratively in small teams under tight deadlines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of finish carpentry/custom fabrication experience is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Significant knowledge in the safe use of professional power tools.
• Ability to read and accurately fabricate and install builds from drawings.
• Strong mathematical ability for accuracy in measuring and fabricating.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality are required.
• Professional communication and demeanor with clients and colleagues.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented and self-starting approach is essential.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation is required for offsite work.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record are necessary.
• Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
• Willingness to expand and improve skills.
• Detail-oriented mindset.
• Ability to drive a 24’ box truck is a plus.

Additional Information

• Self-transport is required as employees may start work at offsite locations.
• Early mornings, possible travel, evenings, weekends, and overtime are part of the role.
• Hiring for immediate full-time employment (40 hours per week plus overtime).
