Overview
At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, the Welding (Can Fabrication) position involves operating automated welding operations and performing various welding tasks to support can fabrication. The role is essential to the development of aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform program set up and operate multiple automated mechanized welding operations.
- Write programs and input parameters, making necessary adjustments on parts.
- Perform a variety of hand and machine fusion welding operations to construct powder containers.
- Interface with Engineering or design personnel to facilitate fabrication.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, and sketches issued by the engineering department.
- Train others to perform routine welding tasks.
- Comply with all company rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
- Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives.
- May be assigned to tasks not specifically listed within the scope of this job description.
- Work a schedule of Friday - Sunday (3x12) 7:00pm - 7:00am.
Requirements
- HS diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of welding qualities of metals.
- Clear understanding of shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.
- Instructor level knowledge of fusion welding processes and terminology.
- Strong attendance record.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work hours outside of the regular shift.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
- Physical ability to ascend, descend stairs, stand for extended periods, bend, squat, twist, reach overhead, and lift up to 25 pounds.

- The pay range is $32.00 per hour.
