Overview

At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, the Can Fabrication (Welding) S2 position involves performing hand and machine fusion welding operations to construct powder containers. Candidates will join Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aircraft engine design and manufacturing, to help shape the future of aerospace and defense.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of hand and machine fusion welding operations to construct powder containers.
• Perform routine maintenance work on equipment with little to no supervision.
• Prepare all parts for fabrication, including grinding, polishing, and cleaning.
• Fabricate stainless steel extrusion cans.
• Seal and prepare cans for shipment.
• Comply with all company rules and regulations.
• Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives.
• Utilize basic computer skills for general use of Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.
• Problem solve minor fabrication and equipment issues.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
• Strong attendance record.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work hours outside of the regular shift.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to wear a respirator.
• Ability to ascend, descend stairs, stand for extended periods, bend, squat, twist, reach overhead, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Additional Information

• The position works a schedule of Monday - Thursday (4x10) from 10:00pm to 8:00am.
• The role is onsite, requiring commuting to and from the assigned site.
