Overview
At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, the Welder II role focuses on performing advanced welding operations with limited supervision, ensuring precision and adherence to established manufacturing specifications and quality standards. The position requires proficiency in setting up and operating various welding equipment to produce high-quality precision parts.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding tasks with minimal supervision to meet quality and production standards.
- Learn and operate automatic and manual welding machines according to specifications, ensuring proper setup and calibration for the assigned work.
- Perform cleaning operations after welding, as required, to complete the weld and maintain production quality.
- Inspect and check dimensions using precision gauges and measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Learn alloy and assembly operations necessary for furnace operations and integrate these processes into production tasks.
- Operate CNC equipment as required to complete welding processes, following operational guidelines.
- Perform non-production welds as needed and support the development of specialized welding tasks.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets to guide welding and production activities.
- Complete production documentation with accuracy, including necessary labor transactions and quality reporting.
- Actively support and adhere to all rules, guidelines, and standards set by Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Quality, and Continuous Improvement (CI) functions.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement processes to enhance production efficiency and safety.
- Work extended shifts or overtime hours as required by business needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Typically requires HS diploma or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- 1 or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams and/or engineering drawings to weld equipment.
- 1 or more years of experience with general hand and/or power tools.

Additional Information
- Working hours are 1st shift hours (7am-3:30 pm) Monday - Friday.
