Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Seam Welder Operator is responsible for operating the Sub Arc Seam Welder to weld steel shafts, ensuring quality and safety in the production process.

Responsibilities

• Load steel shafts into Sub Arc Seam Welder
• Machine weld the entire seam of steel shaft using the Sub Arc Seam Welder to make a steel pole
• Monitor the quality of incoming steel shafts and determine when material is substandard
• Operate a straightener to straighten the shafts after welding
• Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure incoming material and verify that finished product meets specifications

Requirements

• No Degree Required
• Minimum of 3+ years relevant experience
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with most frequent lift up to 20 pounds
• Read blue prints
• Ability to use tape measure
• Ability to be Valmont trained and certified in operation of forklift
• Must have a high awareness for safety at all times

• Compensation: $28.57 per hour (+$2/hr. shift differential)
• Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. or 3rd Shift, Monday - Friday 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
