Overview

Carolina Cat is a family-owned company committed to trust, integrity, and helping customers and employees succeed. They are seeking a Welder responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment in a shop or field environment while ensuring productivity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Review work schedule and prepare for operations at the start of the shift.
  • Determine technical or physical status using service documents.
  • Verify findings and compare to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Prepare a plan to correct problems in consultation with co-workers.
  • Order or obtain parts needed for repairs.
  • Install, replace, rebuild, or repair parts and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Test parts or equipment and perform quality checks after work is complete.
  • Paint components and pressure wash parts when necessary.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Secure all equipment and complete required paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and contamination control guidelines.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the welder apprentice level or three years of welding experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend regulations and instructions.
  • Demonstrate good oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be certified in FCAW – 3G or able to pass the certification test.
  • Basic keyboarding skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Must complete the in-house forklift-training program.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
