Overview
Carolina Cat is a family-owned company committed to trust, integrity, and helping customers and employees succeed. They are seeking a Welder responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment in a shop or field environment while ensuring productivity and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Review work schedule and prepare for operations at the start of the shift.
- Determine technical or physical status using service documents.
- Verify findings and compare to manufacturer's specifications.
- Prepare a plan to correct problems in consultation with co-workers.
- Order or obtain parts needed for repairs.
- Install, replace, rebuild, or repair parts and equipment in a timely manner.
- Test parts or equipment and perform quality checks after work is complete.
- Paint components and pressure wash parts when necessary.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Secure all equipment and complete required paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Ensure compliance with safety and contamination control guidelines.
Requirements
- Successful completion of the welder apprentice level or three years of welding experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend regulations and instructions.
- Demonstrate good oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be certified in FCAW – 3G or able to pass the certification test.
- Basic keyboarding skills.
- A valid driver's license.
- Must complete the in-house forklift-training program.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
