Overview

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of golf cars, utility and personal transportation vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. The Welder/Fabricator in the Testing Department will be responsible for fabricating parts and assemblies while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine the proper and efficient approach to fabricate a requested part or assembly.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and participate in continuous improvement projects for 5S and safety.
• Operate and maintain MIG/TIG welding equipment for carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum welding.
• Communicate with work order requestors (engineers/managers) to define goals and ensure alignment on objectives and functionality of prototypes.
• Ensure quality of work prior to completing work order action closures.
• Assist in training team and engineering department members utilizing existing SOPs and assist in creating new procedures as required.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment as required.
• Operate or learn to operate shop equipment including bandsaws, lathe, mill, drill press, shear with growth opportunity to operate advanced equipment such as CNC.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• 4 or more years of experience required; welding certification preferred.
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings; Microsoft Office application skills preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with fabrication techniques and hand tools required.
