Overview

Ericson Manufacturing is seeking a Welder to join their team in Willoughby, OH. The company, family-owned since 1918, specializes in engineering and manufacturing temporary power, lighting, and safety electrical products, emphasizing quality and safety in their operations.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys and aluminum materials.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters.
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
  • Clean and prepare product for final assembly.
  • Ignite flame or strike an arc while welding or performing electricity-related work.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt, or grind spare parts as necessary.
  • Operate safety working equipment and apply safety practices.
  • Operate accessory equipment and perform tasks necessary for welding metal.
  • Control processes of fitting, burning, and welding to avoid overheating or distortion.
  • Examine finished products and spare parts to check specifications.
  • Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
  • Arrange welded parts in order before final assembly.
  • Perform welding equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in repairs as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Works with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints.
  • Ability to apply previous experience to perform detailed instructions.
  • Must have the ability to resolve minor problems.
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in various forms of welding, specifically aluminum MIG and TIG welding.
  • Preferred certification to welding standard AWS D1.2 or equivalent in aluminum standards.
