Overview

Columbia Vehicle Group (CVG) designs and manufactures industry-leading electric vehicles for commercial, industrial, and retail markets. The Manual Welder is responsible for welding metal components used in the production of electric vehicles and related equipment, requiring strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual MIG welding operations on mild steel and aluminum components
• Interpret blueprints, read work instructions, and verify measurements
• Set up and operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently
• Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality and structural standards
• Grind, clean, and finish welds as required
• Verify proper alignment and fit of parts before welding
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in safe working condition
• Follow all CVG safety standards and manufacturing procedures
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality goals
• Assist with other fabrication or production tasks as needed
• Demonstrate consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality to support production efficiency, team performance, and operational goals

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must have consistent, recent welding experience with no significant gaps or must be currently enrolled in a welding program
• Demonstrated ability to accurately read a tape measure and apply measurements in a manufacturing environment
• Experience using grinders, clamps, and metal fabrication tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
