Overview
The Qualified Welder (Non-3G Certified) performs hand welding on various assemblies and structures to fabricate or repair products. This safety-sensitive role requires compliance with safety regulations and documentation of an accredited welding training program.
Responsibilities
- Performs non-structural repairs of the rental fleet according to procedures and work instructions.
- Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job; plans details of working procedure and material requirements.
- Fabrics equipment by cutting, burning, fitting, and welding various metals according to procedures.
- Repairs equipment using appropriate welding techniques; escalates work requiring 3G certification to a certified welder or supervisor.
- Maintains documentation verifying completion of an accredited welding training program.
- Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded; sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
- Repairs worn or defective surfaces.
- Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut material to size.
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
- May dismantle or cut up obsolete equipment for scrap.
- Completes other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Signs acknowledgment of understanding the Company’s safety policy and adheres to safety rules.
