Overview
Altom Transport is hiring a 2nd Shift Tank Trailer Mechanic at their Pasadena, TX terminal to maintain and repair a fleet of DOT cargo tank trailers used for transporting petroleum, chemical, and specialty liquid products. Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain DOT cargo tank trailers.
- Repair tanker components including valves, piping, pumps, vents, fittings, and loading/unloading systems.
- Perform brake, suspension, wheel-end, ABS, and electrical repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and DOT compliance inspections.
- Troubleshoot trailer air systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
- Complete maintenance documentation and inspection reports accurately.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, PHMSA, and company safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of tank trailer or trailer maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of air brake systems, ABS systems, suspensions, wheel ends, and trailer electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
- Valid driver's license.
- Own basic mechanic hand tools.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
