Overview
The Industrial Mechanic III position requires high-level mechanical skills to inspect, install, repair, and adjust manufacturing equipment. It involves advanced knowledge in fluid power and pneumatic equipment, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a good working relationship with Operating personnel to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Analytically troubleshoot and resolve mechanical malfunctions back to OEM Specifications.
- Routinely check the performance of mechanical equipment.
- Properly maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and processing Work Orders.
- Ensure a clean and safe work area by following all PPE policies and safety rules.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Assist and participate in continuous improvement programs and the training of other employees.
- Attend Line-Out meetings to communicate daily activities between incoming and outgoing Maintenance shift crews.
- Make necessary equipment repairs during the shift to maintain equipment availability for production.
- Complete Maintenance shift reports and corresponding paperwork.
- Participate in production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers as it pertains to equipment reliability and availability.
- Perform required Daily, Weekly, Quarterly, and Annual check sheets as established by the Maintenance Department and O.E.M. suppliers.
- Prepare reports, forms, records, and related paperwork for assigned area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- A welding or mechanical maintenance certification or technical degree preferred.
- 4 – 6 years of experience required.
- Ability to read operating and maintenance instructions, procedure/equipment manuals, and electrical/Mechanical schematic drawings.
- Proficient in the use of oxy/fuel cutting torches and related cutting tools as well as SMAW (Stick), MIG (Wire), and Flux Core welding processes.
- Fabrication skills including the ability to layout and accurately calculate measurements for various projects and repairs.
- Advanced skills and knowledge in complex fluid power systems including exposure to servo technology.
- Basic understanding of simple electrical circuits as it relates to mechanical equipment.
- Capable of executing welds in all positions with all types of metals and alloys.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Knowledge of general manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery preferred.
- Knowledge of Word Processing software.
