Overview
The Mechanic position involves assembling power units and sub-assemblies from various materials and processes. The role requires proficiency in operating tools, reading schematics, and adhering to safety regulations, while working in a mostly indoor, non-climate-controlled environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate various tools such as saws, benders, and drill press.
- Use overhead crane, hoist or forklifts to assemble components.
- Drill and tape holes to common industry standards.
- Read and follow drawings, prints and component installation instructions.
- Run and terminate simple electrical wiring per drawings or schematics.
- Fabricate small brackets and assemblies requiring minimal welding.
- Rout and install hydraulic hose, tubing and fittings from schematics.
- Assemble hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, filters and heat exchangers.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, paying special attention to safety regulations.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area.
- Be responsible for the quality of parts produced.
- Complete tasks in a timely fashion.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Vocational School.
- Three years related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to pay attention to details.
- Accept responsibility for actions.
- Ability to properly convey ideas or concepts.
- Accept constructive criticism without becoming defensive.
- AWSD1.1 Certified using Hydraulics’ Welder qualifications as a minimum requirement.
