Overview

As a Mechanic III with HCA Houston Healthcare West, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance and repairs of facility equipment, ensuring safety and operational efficiency. HCA Houston Healthcare is dedicated to community service and providing exceptional healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance repairs of facility(s) and preventive maintenance of all life and non-life safety equipment.
• Conduct operations and repairs of the power plant and grounds.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment, and building automation systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide hands-on skills for minor alterations and construction not requiring permits.
• Manage comprehensive ground repairs.
• Test and operate the Emergency Power system, including generator testing.
• Test fire pump operations.
• Assist the Plant Director with fire alarm and sprinkler testing schedules and repairs.
• Assist other stationary engineers as required.
• Schedule vendors for preventive maintenance and testing of equipment as required by code.
• Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
• Respond to Code (Red, Pink, and Gray).

Requirements

• 3 years previous experience in healthcare maintenance setting or 5 years in a commercial building.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building automation systems.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong knowledge of Emergency Generators and fire code.
• Technical school required without previous experience.
• High School Diploma/GED.
