Overview

The Engineer Level II - Materials/Welding position involves evaluating and prioritizing projects with minimal supervision, reviewing client specifications, and providing expertise in materials and welding engineering. The role includes producing data sheets for component procurement and overseeing technical aspects of procurement while contributing to training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate, organize, and prioritize projects with minimal supervision.
  • Review and become familiar with client specifications during Tender and Projects.
  • Provide specialist skills and knowledge in materials and welding engineering.
  • Produce data sheets for component procurement and provide technical oversight.
  • Review fabricators' submitted Material Test Reports and Welding Procedure Packages.
  • Contribute to training and development while innovating solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Weld Engineering, Metallurgy or Material Science.
  • 7 years of practical experience in Weld Engineering.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficient with common business software tools and packages.
  • Experience with subsea material combinations including carbon steel pipe and nickel alloys.
  • Subsea fabrication, manufacturing, and welding experience with various structures.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector or Certified Welding Engineer.
  • NDE Certifications such as ASNT Level II or Level III in multiple NDE methods.
  • Familiarity with offshore operators' materials and welding specifications.
  • Experience with welding of pressure containing kits and fabricated steel structures.
  • Experience with manufacture and testing of line pipe.
  • Experience with hot induction bending of pipe.
  • Knowledge of forging and materials processing techniques.
  • Experience with flanged connections and bolting.
  • Experience with subsea cathodic protection systems.
