Overview
Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Instrument Fitter Helper role involves installing and removing various instrumentation used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, and temperature.
Responsibilities
- Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings.
- Installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics and electricity.
- Cuts, bends, and installs pipe tubing or conduit for the installation of air or process lines for instrument controls.
- Installs instruments, instrument stands and control wiring to valves and strokes valves to verify operation.
- Installation and calibration of recorders, alarms, switches and other devices.
- May steam trace lines when necessary.
- May install flanges and orifice plates.
- May repair steam traps.
- May perform other duties necessary in order to remove, install or troubleshoot instrumentation devices.
- Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience.
