Overview
Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Instrument Fitter role involves installing and removing various instrumentation used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, and temperature.
Responsibilities
- Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings.
- Installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics, and electricity.
- Cuts, bends, and installs pipe tubing or conduit for the installation of air or process lines for instrument controls.
- Installs instruments, instrument stands, and control wiring to valves and strokes valves to verify operation.
- Handles installation and calibration of recorders, alarms, switches, and other devices.
- May steam trace lines when necessary.
- May install flanges and orifice plates.
- May repair steam traps.
- May perform other duties necessary in order to remove, install or troubleshoot instrumentation devices.
- Maintains current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- 4 years of Journeyman level experience.
- NCCER certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
