Overview

The Track Maintenance position at Los Angeles Junction Railway involves various responsibilities related to track maintenance, equipment operation, and transportation. The role requires compliance with safety regulations and offers a competitive pay range.

Responsibilities

• Construct, inspect, and repair track and other railroad property/facilities.
• Operate and maintain equipment.
• Transport crew and equipment to/from job sites.
• Travel and work in assigned geographic areas.
• Repair and rebuild track using power and non-power tools.
• Lift and carry track material and clear vegetation.
• Operate large non-power tools and electric, pneumatic, hydraulic tools.
• Drive trucks weighing over 26K lbs and ensure their maintenance.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willing to submit to random drug tests.
• Available to work in the indicated geographic area.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Available for full-time work, including overtime and on-call shifts.
• Able to travel to job sites and remain on site for extended periods.
• Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs frequently.
• Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Able to visually distinguish colors and hear auditory signals.
• Able to perform physical activities involving holding, grasping, and pulling.
• Able to work in conditions with loud noise and fumes.

Additional Information

• Full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
• Probationary period of 60 days.
• Frequent travel over a large geographic region.
• Union membership and dues required.
