Responsibilities
- Construct, inspect, and repair track and other railroad property/facilities.
- Operate and maintain equipment.
- Transport crew and equipment to/from job sites.
- Travel and work in assigned geographic areas.
- Repair and rebuild track using power and non-power tools.
- Lift and carry track material and clear vegetation.
- Operate large non-power tools and electric, pneumatic, hydraulic tools.
- Drive trucks weighing over 26K lbs and ensure their maintenance.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Willing to submit to random drug tests.
- Available to work in the indicated geographic area.
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Available for full-time work, including overtime and on-call shifts.
- Able to travel to job sites and remain on site for extended periods.
- Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs frequently.
- Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Able to visually distinguish colors and hear auditory signals.
- Able to perform physical activities involving holding, grasping, and pulling.
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise and fumes.
Additional Information
- Full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
- Probationary period of 60 days.
- Frequent travel over a large geographic region.
