Overview
The Sheet Metal Worker position at LA Health Services involves performing journey-level sheet metal installation, fabrication, assembly, and repair work. Responsibilities
- Lays out, cuts, shapes and constructs articles of sheet metal.
- Supervises apprentices and helpers.
- Punches or drills holes for rivets, bolts or metal screws.
- Grinds and files seams, joints and rough surfaces.
- Fabricates or repairs sheet metal articles such as roofing, gutters, and ducts.
- Transfers patterns from blueprints to metal using layout tools.
- Fabricates signs, ducts, vessels, etc., from plastics.
- Solders, welds and brazes.
- Drives automotive equipment to and from work sites.
- Maintains tools and equipment.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship training program in sheet metal work of at least four years duration.
- Five years of experience in sheet metal work in the building trades, with one year at the journey-level.
- A valid California Class C Driver License is required.
Additional Information
