Overview

Bostik - Calumet City is hiring a Shift Mechanic with a starting wage of $43.41 and an annual bonus potential of 4%. The role involves operation and maintenance of plant utilities in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform operation and maintenance of plant utilities including boilers, treatment ponds, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors.
• Safely perform routine maintenance activities on process equipment including pumps, agitators, and valves.
• Operate forklifts to move materials and supplies in the plant.
• Maintain work areas and report accurate inventories and supplies to management for efficient cost control.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays in a 24X7 operation.
• Ability to complete work orders in the maintenance database system and complete computer-based training.
• Strong work history that demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, and team player.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• 3 years of previous maintenance/mechanical experience preferred in a PSM-regulated environment.
• Safe driving experience with fork-lift certification.
• One year certificate from a college, technical school or equivalent experience and training.
• 3 years experience working with hazardous and flammable chemicals.
