Overview
The Building Mechanic II position involves maintaining equipment, hardware, and building systems while performing general maintenance duties across various facilities with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Maintains building HVAC and building automation systems, including air conditioning, heating, plumbing, minor electrical and lighting.
- Provides technical expertise for all systems to Facility Manager as required.
- Prepares and maintains logs and records of equipment operations, building automation systems and system repairs.
- Trains operators in their duties and responsibilities.
- Reviews pass down reports of equipment and tools.
- Assists Assistant Facility Manager, plumbers, electricians, or other personnel.
- Samples and tests boilers and cooling towers and prepares reports.
- May act as a lead person on assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program.
- Two years of work-related experience.
- One year of work-related experience can substitute for one year of formal training or any combination of the two.
- Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and a good driving record.
- Must pass a security clearance check.
- Position will be required to work rotating shifts and days.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift weights in excess of 50 lbs.
- Ability to withstand prolonged sitting, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, stretching, lifting and climbing ladders.
- Must be able to work in varying conditions, surroundings and weather conditions.
