Overview

The Pipefitter position at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMCVAMC) involves maintaining the plumbing and steam systems under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. This role is critical for ensuring the safe and uninterrupted operation of complex systems essential for the Medical Center.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, maintain, and repair high-pressure piping systems including steam distribution and heating systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on oil/natural gas systems, heat exchangers, and related components.
  • Install pipe insulation, condensate collection tanks and pumps, hot water heating devices, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintain and repair domestic water systems, drainage waste and vent systems, and various plumbing devices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Evidence of training or experience in plumbing and pipefitting.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and specifications, including blueprint reading.
  • Experience with equipment assembly, installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
