Overview

Mission Critical Group (MCG) is a provider of power solutions and services that delivers scalable infrastructure for mission critical environments. The Metal Shop Technician Lead will oversee the fabrication and assembly of custom Switchgear structures while also fulfilling technician responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead metal shop technicians in operations and safety by personal example and providing training and direction.
• Provide direction to the metal shop technicians in accordance with established policies and best practices.
• Monitor team member performance and coach per company policies.
• Direct, supervise, instruct, and inspect the performance of metal shop team members.
• Support the Metal Shop Manager in overseeing operations for efficiency and productivity.
• Provide input on team member performance evaluations.
• Participate in required training by Senior Management.
• Provide coverage for the Metal Shop Manager during absences.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure adherence to safety policies.
• Ensure security of the facility at site closure or opening.

Requirements

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Minimum 4-5 years in general mechanical or metal working or associated field.
• Experience in the use of hand tools and hand power tools.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.
• Ability to follow verbal directions to meet production schedules.
• Proficiency in the use of basic tools including gear wrenches and torque wrenches.
• Detail-oriented with a dedication to quality standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimal direction.
