Overview

ECS Limited is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to join their College Park team, offering a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth. The role involves performing field observations and inspections on various construction materials, including steel, and conducting both destructive and non-destructive testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of construction materials.
  • Execute tasks based on project requirements under guidance from senior technicians and project managers.
  • Conduct routine observations of structural steel and reinforcing steel using various testing methodologies.
  • Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results.
  • Maintain organization of field equipment and report any broken or missing items.
  • Communicate daily with site contractors and project managers about site conditions and testing needs.
  • Attend project meetings as requested.
  • Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations and inspections.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain 2 relevant specialty certifications from industry authorities.
  • Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Must provide suitable transportation for job sites.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Working knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing principles.
  • Good understanding of heavy construction safety practices.
  • Ability to perform work at heights.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops.
  • Functional ability to read and interpret engineering and construction plans.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to calibrate NDE equipment if focused on NDE testing.
