Overview

Forward Air is seeking a self-motivated individual to join their maintenance team as a full-time Trailer Mechanic, responsible for maintaining vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment and trailers.
• Maintain equipment according to DOT regulations.
• Perform minor trailer repairs.
• Perform tire mounting/dismounting and repairs.
• Perform minor cosmetic repairs.
• Conduct various analysis and inspections of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
• Maintain work area, tools, and equipment.
• Operate diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools.
• Perform minor building and facility maintenance.
• Perform data entry in Maintenance Software to track repairs.
• Keep shop and company tools clean and in good working order.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Prior experience with truck, trailer, and/or vehicle repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Desire for a long-term career with an industry leading company.

• Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have basic set of tools.
