Overview

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational processes and metrics of two Phoenix Stamping Group plants, ensuring that production, safety, quality, and delivery objectives are met.

Responsibilities

  • Implement strategy for plant specific operational management.
  • Manage Plant Production, Maintenance, Tooling, and Material Handling departments.
  • Champion the plants safety program and lead corrective action measures.
  • Coordinate statutory training and compliance.
  • Build and monitor production schedules aligned with customer demand.
  • Understand and impact plant OEE metrics.
  • Manage shipping and receiving processes and inventory management.
  • Support equipment installations and facility layout projects.
  • Audit compliance with standard work instructions.
  • Review quality metrics with plant leaders and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate staffing levels to support production requirements.
  • Oversee professional development of Supervisors and labor.
  • Identify operator development opportunities and implement training programs.
  • Assist in the development of 6S and visual factory tools.
  • Maintain knowledge of contemporary operational theory and methods.
  • Manage plant P&L to impact relevant accounts.
  • Manage Quick and Easy Kaizen (QEK) program.
  • Plan and support operational improvements.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Gather data and systematically solve problems.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Liaise with other functional groups to support operational capabilities.
  • Ensure activities meet organizational requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in metal stamping and metal fabrication manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of lean manufacturing.
  • P&L experience to understand and impact financial performance.
  • Experience maintaining quality systems (ISO 9001:2015 preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule within and through ERP systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills and leadership experience.
