Overview
The WSI Boilermaker position involves skilled work in various phases of boilermaking, including welding and equipment maintenance. Boilermakers and helpers will operate automated welding equipment and perform tasks in an industrial field environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate WSI automated welding equipment in a confined space.
- Demonstrate competence in analysis of welding procedures.
- Determine materials and weld procedures for specific projects.
- Weld from all positions.
- Design, layout, fabricate, and analyze metal failures and repairs needed.
- Fabricate, fit, and weld material from blueprints and drawings.
- Operate miscellaneous hand and power tools.
- Use measuring tools and shop support equipment.
- Follow instructions and direction with minimal supervision.
- Understand and practice all safety procedures for the work environment.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Travel for field assignments as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the site superintendent/foreman.
Requirements
- High School Completion or GED is required.
- Technical training and experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with automated welding equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to perform MIG and TIG welding, including vertical and overhead welding.
